Introduction
The IOI-A100U2W features the flexibility, speed, and compatibility required to optimize today's PC servers and workstations. The IOI-A100U2W provides unmatched Ultra2 SCSI data transfers of up to 80 Mbytes/sec- that's twice the speed of UltraWide SCSI and up to 8 times the speed of conventional FastSCSI. Extended cable lengths of up to 12 meters for Ultra2 devices illustrate the IOI-A100U2W's system configuration flexibility. It has also been thoroughly tested with several systems and peripherals to deliver the utmost in reliability and compatibility. The 32-bit PCI Interface transfers data at the rate of 133 MByte/sec with a 33 Mhz PCI clock. The SCSI interface is an Ultra2 interface capable of bursting data at 80 MByte/sec on the SCSI bus. These high speed interfaces and an embedded I/O processor makes the IOI-A100U2W uses little or no CPU bandwidth by off-loading all the I/O tasks to the performance in I/O intensive applications such as multimedia, imaging, client server databases, intranet applications, WEB Tools and RAID subsystems that require high availability and throughput.

While the IOI-A100U2W host adapters are capable of keeping pace with the most demanding applications, they offer complete compatibility with your existing SCSI peripherals. You can combine SCSI-1, SCSI-2, SCSI-3 or UltraSCSI peripherals for optimum performance and value. The SCSI I/O pad design allows cable lengths of up to 12 meters. In point-to-point configurations, cabling can be extended up to 25 meters. This increased cable length provides greater flexibility in system configurations, especially in clustering and RAID applications. The IOI-A100U2W host adapters feature SmartSCSI, a user friendly, BIOS resident setup utility that allows individual device configuration, host adapter termination, and PCI Plug n' Play installations via the keyboard.
