Introduction

IP8X-M2X20 is a PCI Express (PCIe) x8 to two PCIe M.2 sockets docking system.

It provides one upstream port supporting x8, and two downstream ports that support M.2 operation.

The design provides multiple protection modes. They are a robust defense against Overloads, Shorts Circuits, Voltage Surges, Excessive Inrush Current, and Hiccup Short Circuit Protection.

For all those without M.2 (NGFF) socket on their computers, this is an useful solution for installing all kind of M.2 (NGFF) PCIe SSD Modules.

No additional software or drivers are needed.

IP8X-M2X20 is integrated by the following three key parts (IP8X-PCIE8XG201, DB525-QIP2XM2X20, CB-00592).

Utilizing the standard PCI Express Switch, the16-Lane/16-Port PCI Express Gen 2 (5 Gbps) Switch provides the most efficient fan-out solution for the following configuration:
