FWB-COAX7501 is a FireWire 800 (IEEE 1394b) to Coax Repeater. It's easy to setup and there is no configuration necessary, like all IEEE1394 compliant hardware.

FWB-COAX7501 is designed to simultaneously transmit and receive signals on a single 75Ω coax cable. It is ideally suited for IEEE 1394b-2002 connections over 75Ω coax cable at S800 data rate as specified in the 1394 TA Baseband Coax PMD Specification. It can also be used at S400, S200 and S100 data rates as illustrated in below Table (Typical Equalization Performance).

FWB-COAX7501 is useful and economical for the Machine Vision and Surveillance market.

The advantages of the FWB-COAX7501 in these application are:

• Excellent EMI/RFI shielding of coax cable and the range achieved; it is a copper interconnect
• The auto-mute with low-power standby mode functionality gives comparable performance to
  the 1394TA spec 2004024 “PMD for Fiber Optic Wake-on-LAN”

  • FWB-COAX7501 is a bus-powered device, it could be powered from DC Jack/ FireWire (IEEE 1394) bus and will repeat the power to FireWire (IEEE 1394) bus.
  • Power Class Descriptions: Node may be powered from the bus for the PHY only using up to 3W and may also provide power to the bus. The amount of bus power that it provides can be found in the configuration ROM. * Each IEEE 1394 (FireWire) port is protected by one 1.35A/33V Fuse.
