Introduction

FW2IDE02D is a FireWire (IEEE 1394a) to IDE (ATA/ATAPI) bridge board featuring Oxford OXFW911plus FireWire (IEEE 1394a) to IDE (ATA/ATAPI) Bridge Controller.

FW2IDE02D is ideally suited for tailgate interface applications for removable-media drives CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM, tape drive, and hard disk drive. It allows IDE drive (Master or Slave) to be connected to FireWire (IEEE 1394a) serial bus in a plug-and-play fashion.

Users can easily hot-swap FireWire (IEEE 1394a) drive without interrupting the current operation.

FW2IDE02D provides the perfect solution for data backup and transferring of data between computers using IDE (ATA/ATAPI) devices.

FW2IDE02D also is a selectable hardware RAID bridge for two 3.5" ATA HDD. A true hardware solution, FW2IDE02D requires no software to be installed on your machine.

It provides 3 hardware RAID mode:

  • RAID 0 (Striping): for two disks with same capacity.
  • Spanning: for two disks with different capacity.
  • Non-RAID (JBOD).
