Introduction

U2FWEIDE525D-2 is ideally suited for tailgate interface applications for ATAPI ODD (Optical Disk Drive)
- CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM, tape drive, and hard disk drive. It allows IDE drives (Master and Slave) to be connected to a FireWire (IEEE 1394) or USB serial bus in a plug-and-play fashion.

U2FWEIDE525D-2 allows users to easily hot-swap IDE drive without interrupting the current operation.
U2FWEIDE525D-2 provides the perfect solution for data backup and transferring of data between computers using IDE (ATA/ATAPI) devices.

U2FWEIDE525D-2 combines two key components:
 1). U2FW-IDE12: USB 2.0 & FireWire (IEEE 1394a) ComBo to IDE (ATA/ATAPI) Bridge Board
2). CF-7021: Dual 5.25" Bays Enclosure

  • Both ATA and ATAPI devices are supported using the same firmware.
  • Complies with T13's ATA/ATAPI-7 Draft Specification:

    • Ultra DMA Mode 0 ~ 4
    • Ultra DMA Mode 5, 6 (FireWire only)
  • Supports 48-bit LBA for large hard drives (>128GB).

2). CF-7021 (Dual 5.25" Bays Enclosure)

  • The inner metal mounting bracket provide the screw hole for 5.25" devices.
